Our Founding Pastor

Pastor John R. Dingman, Sr.

Pastor Dingman was born and raised in Flint, Michigan.    At the age of 26 while serving on active duty in the U.S. Navy, Pastor Dingman received the Lord Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior. 

In 1986, After an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Navy, after 10 years on active duty, Pastor Dingman attended the Biblical Baptist College where he received his training for the Ministry.

He received his Master's Degree in Biblical Studies from the Biblical Baptist College in 1996.  Pastor Dingman received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Pastoral Theology from the Great Lakes Baptist College in July of 2002.

A Brief  History of Our Church

Pastor Dingman started the Lighthouse Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 15th, 1995.  At the time the church was know as Biblical Baptist Church.  22 were in attendance at our first service.  The Church met in the Elmwood Plaza in a little room right next to the leasing office.

In January of 1996 the Church met in the home of Pastor Dingman.  In February of 1996 the church was able to purchase a little church property in the Lake Park area.  The church met in this building for the next 3 years.  In September of 1999 the church was able to obtain our current property.  

God has greatly blessed our church.   We have seen hundreds of souls saved in our first decade of Ministry.  God has brought over one thousand visitors to our church since our first service, and we have seen many converts Baptized for the GLORY OF GOD!  

We give God all the Glory for what He has done in Racine!  We are anticipating a bright future here at the Lighthouse Baptist Church.
